Questions?  We’ve got answers!

Is CBD legal to buy/sell in the United States?

Absolutely. The 2018 Farm Bill declassified hemp derived products from Schedule 1 status, completely legalizing the growing and producing of hemp products as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC, and the hemp is grown in a state with certain regulator structures in place (such as Vermont, of course).

What does CBD stand for?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol, a compound found in Cannabis sativa plants that include both marijuana and hemp. CBD oil is derived from the hemp plant only.

What are the benefits of CBD exactly?

CBD has received a lot of attention recently thanks to many scientific studies finding potential benefits ranging from pain relief, to anxiety reduction, and even seizure and epilepsy.  A few are…

  • CBD oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can relieve muscle and joint pain.
  • CBD oil has antipsychotic effects that can mitigate conditions such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
  • CBD oil has been shown to aid in preventing seizures.
  • CBD vapor helps reduce the craving for nicotine.

What's the difference? Are hemp and pot the same?

No! Both hemp and marijuana are Cannabis sativa, but hemp has less than 0.3% of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the principal psychoactive constituent found in marijuana (5% to 35% THC).
In other words, CBD oil does not cause the “high” associated with marijuana, but offers all of the medicinal benefits of Cannabidiol.

Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, Isolate... what's the difference?

CBD products are typically sold in 3 forms, and it is important to know the differences.  We offer only Broad Spectrum and Isolate CBD oil here at Vesper Farms, as Full Spectrum CBD is not yet legal in all states.

Full Spectrum

  • Higher levels of THC (often higher than 0.3%)
  • Strong “natural” flavor and aroma
  • Includes CBD, all terpenes, and flavonoids
  • Can show up on drug tests

Broad Spectrum

  • Low levels of THC (0.03% and below)
  • Strong “natural” flavor and aroma
  • Includes CBD and all other terpenes (ie. the “entourage benefits”)
  • Unlikely to show up on drug tests

  • Very Low levels of THC (0.03% and below)
  • Mild flavor/flavorless
  • Purest form of CBD (~99.9%)
  • Does not contain other terpenes
  • Unlikely to show up on drug tests
